Gradara (PU)

For the tragic love of Paolo and Francesca narrated by Dante in Divine Comedy, the village of Gradara is considered one of most romantic in Italy. But not only that: inside the town there is the Rocca, a true jewel of Italian fortified architecture. In fact, the fortress is the result of various reconstructive phases that followed one another over the centuries until the last major restoration intervention carried out between 1921 and 1923, which characterized the building with a strong imprint of medieval and neo-medieval style. .

Ripatransone (AP)

As the second best village in the Marche, we chose Ripatransone, the village famous throughout the peninsula for having the narrowest alley in Italy, just 43 centimetres! Nestled on the hill between the valleys of the Menocchia torrent and the Tesino river, the town stands in an enviable panoramic position. From the top the view extends south over the Gran Sasso , Maiella, north on Monte Conero, to the west on Monti Sibillini and east on Adriatic Sea.

Mondavio (PU)

Dominating from the north the Cesano Valley there is the village of Mondavio which has a clear medieval imprint, and the ancient nucleus is surrounded by walls. Mondavio was a fief first of the Malatesta family and then of the Della Rovere family, and its silhouette between hills and vineyards is made unmistakable by the imposing Rocca Roverasca. The structure is composed of the keep with eight irregular faces and sharp walls that create a helix curve, patrol walkways and a semi-elliptical tower connected to the fortification by a bridge.

Corinaldo (AN)

The fortress of Corinth it is famous for its city walls, one of the most complete and spectacular in the area, which encloses the center probably founded by the population who fled the Roman city of Suasa after the barbarian invasions.
Corinaldo was built on various occasions between the 1366 and the 1490 and was followed in the project by the Sienese architect Francesco di Giorgio Martini, an expert in military engineering who operated in the Middle Ages throughout central Italy.

San Ginesio (MC)

In front of the chain of Sibillini Mountains National Park, those "Blue Mountains" so dear to the poet Giacomo Leopardi, rises San Ginesio. Loving her (FM)

The village of Loving it, declared "Orange Flag" in 2019, was born in the mid-XNUMXth century fromunion of three castles. Enclosed by a mighty wall, the village was accessed by five gates of which only the one remains St. James.
